Into the Book describes itself as a reading comprehension resource for K - Grade 4 students and teachers. Students complete online interactive activities that focus on the eight reading strategies (prior knowledge, making connections, questioning, visualizing, inferring, summarizing, evaluating, and synthesizing). Students can print or email their work for assessment or sharing. Each strategy is accompanied by a teacher guide with additional lessons, book suggestions, and links. I plan to use this site as a starting point for teaching individual reading strategies. The student video episodes look great, but what I appreciate the most are the teacher tools.
