Aside from shopping for classroom decorations, I haven't done much over the past couple of weeks to get ready for back to school. I have, however, spent more time than I care to admit catching up on all of my favourite teaching blogs. The buzz on ProTeacher the past few days has been all about Pixie Stick Birthday Balloons. Today, I picked up some sturdy twisty straws and a lime green cup at the dollar store and printed the balloon template onto cardstock. Although I can't take credit for the idea, here is a photo of how my version turned out:
